Thanks to Laura & Jason for giving us the opportunity to share their specially chosen location for their engagement shoot. Shooting at the Gaiety was an amazing experience and thanks to the Gaiety for the assistance on lighting on the day. Laura has given us an insight of why the picked the Gaiety for their location Engagement Shoot.
Before we ever met, one of our biggest shared loves was performing and music. Jason grew up playing gigs with rock bands and I was always on stage in either tutus or tap shoes.
While studying in DCU we were introduced; through mutual friends, to DCU Drama Society and in 2005 I produced the annual musical; Guys and Dolls, and Jason managed the sound & lighting. It was during this show that we started dating.
The first time Jason officially asked me out, he invited me to go and see a show with him. Little did I realise until we got there...he would actually be operating the sound desk! I spent most of our first 'date' running backstage with spare microphones and batteries!!!
Ten years on and not much has changed...Jason runs his own Sound Design company and I love performing with Coolmine Musical Society. Theatres are a huge part of our lives and where we spend so much of our time! We've seen and been involved in hundreds of shows over the years and met many wonderful friends along the way! So when selecting a location for our engagement shoot, it was an obvious choice! Ireland has so many fantastic theatres, so trying to choose one was tough, but The Gaiety is one of our favourites. It’s so iconic, beautiful and historic. We were delighted to be able to use such a special location as our backdrop!
We'd like to thank the wonderful crew and staff in The Gaiety for making it all happen!
