For many couples planning their wedding, the idea of a "first look" has become an increasingly popular. A first look is an intimate moment shared between the couple before their ceremony, where they see each other for the first time. Traditionally, the couple would wait until they walked down the aisle to have this special moment, but Seóna and Leo's story shows us the numerous advantages of opting for a first look, even if they were having a church wedding.
Pregnancy is a magical time. Our spacious and inviting studio provides the perfect setting to celebrate your pregnancy, making it an experience you'll fondly remember.
At Foran and Sauvage Photography, we recommend the "first look". Take a look at Mary and David’s winter wedding to understand why this trend can add something truly special to your day.
Time has flown by, and finding a moment to feature our own weddings has been quite a challenge. However, now that things are slowly returning to a sense of normality, (whatever "normal" means!), we are absolutely delighted to finally share one of the weddings we photographed earlier this year.
We love working alongside couples who are planning relaxed intimate weddings, Karen & Chris’s wedding at Cityhall was very much this. They had close family and friends to the ceremony, after they strolled around the city enjoying time together during their couple photo shoot and re joined their guest for dinner at Marco Pierre White’s Donnybrook.
2020 was certainly a changed year, after a wedding on the 12th of March the country went into lockdown, our first wedding back was with Rachel & Joey at Clonabreany House. At this time you could have 50 people at your wedding and a live band, we were getting used to the new social distancing rules, the sanitising of hands, but this was the first wedding we shot wearing masks. That was something that was a little surreal.
Will we ever see weddings with large-sized guest lists again..... looking back when things were normal, a sunny September day with an outdoor ceremony at Tankardstown House, with lots of guests.....
It was Thursday the 12th of March 2020, the day of the first announcements from the then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, the new restrictions to our daily living because of COVID-19. Little did we know on that day that Fran & John's wedding would be last wedding we would shoot for five months...
These were the words of one of our December couples that were lucky enough to go ahead with their original date, but let's head back to Thursday the 12th of March... the day of the first announcements on Covid-19 by then-Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, and also the day of Fran & John's wedding at Palmerstown House; who could tell what was ahead of us all.
Laura & Barry's feedback on their location shoot and how rain on your wedding day doesn't have to dampen the occasion....
Choosing a time of year to get married and then wondering what the weather will be like... In Ireland we really can't be guaranteed sunshine so many weddings are booked off peak. For Suzanne and Paul they choose March. Earlier that month we had storm Emma which we will never forget, but on this day the sunshine was absolutely perfect...
Finally getting around to featuring one of our weddings from Palmerstown house. Having now shot several weddings at this location it is great to share these images. This wedding was shot in early April. Both preparations were covered off-site with the ceremony taking place in the Main Hall at the Manor House, amazing angles to cover the bride arrival...
Diane & Simon’s wedding was shot back in May, starting with both preparation on site at Cloanbreany. We always like to cover both partners' mornings as it gives a true documentary feel to the day, this allows a nice flow of photos to develop. During the ceremony we are always looking out for different angles and cut offs, this creates a storytelling feel to our pictures.
Through out the year we always take a bit of time out for an inspirational shoot. For years we have spent time shooting editorial work for magazines, an inspirational shoot is something different, it’s a cross over from our editorial work and weddings. A day out at a venue like Clonabreany gives you great time to explore, looking at different angles and new was of shooting, which we then can introduce into our weddings.
We often get couples who shy away from getting an engagement shoot done but it can be really worthwhile. The initial nerves are gone in the first few minutes and couples find it really enjoyable and beneficial after that. It gives real insight of what it will be like on the day of their wedding... Fun!!
One of the styled wedding shoots we worked on last year was for the very chic city centre venue, Medley.
